Fengshui 101 : 3

The Bed

Besides the bedroom location and sleeping direction, the bed itself is also important. Here are some of the things to take note when you are buying or arranging your bed.

1) Try to get a bed with a headboard. The headboard will provide a support for you.
2) The bed should not be too small for you as this will inhibit growth.
3) Never put two single beds together to form a double bed. The line of separation between the bed is bad for the marriage luck.
4) Always choose a bed with solid bed frame. This lends a firm support for you.

Sleeping Position
Bedroom fengshui contributes substantially to your own fortune. The position that you are sleeping is very important. The ability to sleep with your head pointing in the direction where your good fortune comes. Based on your Kua numbers, your sleeping direction should align to the luck that you would want to enhance. For example, if you are looking for romance, you should point your head in the direction where your romance luck is most favorable.

While trying to achieve a good sleeping direction, always bear in mind the following:

1) There mus be a solid wall behind the bed. Do not place the bed in the middle of the room.
2) The toilet should not be sharing this solid wall with the bed as the bad chi will flow directly into your head.
3) Do not let your feet point directly at the door as this is a death position.
4) Do not have any mirror reflecting your bed directly. This will symbolize that your spouse will have extra-marital affairs.
4) Do not sleep with a window behind you.

Fengshui 101 : 1

It's the time of year where you can see many doing their spring cleaning. In the realm of fengshui, spring cleaning is recommended. The energy, or qi, of the home should never be allowed to stagnate. Yang energy, qi is constantly moving while yin qi is always still. Hence, for good abundance of fortune, there must be lots of yang qi. So how do we create this yang qi without spending too much money?

The first thing to note is to remove the dirt accumulated beneath cupboards, carpets, beds, wherever you can think of. Dirt, dust, corpses of insects spiders, etc creates very lethargic qi which makes the home "dead".

Another thing to do is to shift your furniture. Make your interior decor look different. This will give a revitalizing and refreshing feel, hence creating vibrant and lively qi.

The slightly more expensive thing to do is to give a new fresh paint to the walls of your house. Colours can easily make your home look different. Of course, you should choose colours that make you happy and refreshing. You can also choose the auspicious colour that best suits your gua number for that year.
With this, hope you have an enjoyable spring cleaning and a Happy Chinese New Year.
