GAB: called to check the prices. competitive between EJ & KT. only problem with them is, they cant store the items for me. which means, they've to deliver the item to me within the next few days. i was checking on a thomson washing machine and the price they offered was $100 cheaper than EJ & KT. but since they cant keep for me till jul (reno my new place), i cant buy from them. just hope they still have the same price when i wanna buy in jul.
EJ (Everjoint) : i've made a few purchases from them for past two years. happy with their service and price. they've never failed with their delivery. they'll deliver to you with a phone call and you don't even need to go down to their shop to make any deposit. they'll give whatever promo or free gifts Courts, Best or Harvey Norman is giving. the items delivered are brand new, just open from the box and original packaging. definitely not display pcs or 2nd hand.

Hi! Am in a dilemma now and hope to get some advice. Bought a Hitachi Plasma and fridge from Aik Leong last evening at $2.2 and $1k but happened to find out that everjoint is offering them at $2k and $945 respectively. So I called AL to ask for further dis. The boss say if I can produce everjoint's receipt to her, she will cancel the order for me. But she warned that everjoint gives wrong or drag delivery and might even give 2nd hand goods.
Have seen good feedback on everjoint in the forums. Anyone have bought from EJ and any probs so far?

jus went down with my friend to everjoint and was suprise that they can actually match price from the sitex.. samsung LA40R81 tv to $2550 plus .my friend bought a hitachi washer at $576 9kg model.... a made in japan plasma at 1985 only... if u guys see anything in the it fAIR CAN call them to check..

KT: I've recently purchase a Samsung fridge from them as their price is slightly better than EJ. i've to make full payment for my purchase as I need to redeem free gifts from Samsung by end May. the shop is very crowded and they've to check the exact price from a little note book. my delivery is schedules for jul so i cant comment much on the delivery yet. friends and relatives who bought from them before, commented that KT is ok.
I just ordered my fridge (F&P) and washing machine (Samsung) from Hong Liang.. Apparently they are slightly cheaper than the rest of the shops recommended.. Hopefully they will deliver on time next sat!! =)
Hi all,
There is a price war due to Sitex roadshow...
In case, you decide to purchase anything from the dealers, you can always proceed to any of the departmental store (Harvey Norman,Courts,Best) and they will be more then happy to match any price which Sitex can offer.
Nowadays, the trend is to slash, slash and slash all prices. Even dealers are finding it tough to survive.

Hi Sean,
If you are living near Hougang area, there's this shop, Goh Ah Bee at Hougang St 21 that gives pretty good price for electrical products. It's near Kovan MRT station.
Try calling Everjoint 64582531. I used them quite often. Prices amongst the lowest you can get. But you will need to know the make and model of the stuff you want.
They delivery anywhere in SGP and warranty/gifts will be the same as offered by Best Denki and the other big shops.
I got my electrical stuff from Hong Liang.. unlike what some say in this forum about their bad service, i got very good service from them. I only knew about the experience that some of them had from hong liang after i bought my stuff.. i spoke to vincent and he was very honest in telling us about the applicances features and will advise us about what to get based on our budget and requirements, and he didnt necessarily keep introducing the more expensive models..
as a gauge, for a LCD tv that sells for $2499 with a free DVD recorder at Hong Liang, Best Denki sells for $2699 with option to buy the DVD recorder at 'special' price for $600 plus.. this is considered a very good deal to them..
free gifts wise, Hong liang also matched up to what the big electrical stores are giving.. well, most of these gifts are from the agent anyway, so no point not giving the free gifts out..
yes, I got all my stuff from Hong Liang too
at Alexander
they gave very professional advice too
We ever bought a washing machine and realised it can't fit into our tiny washing machine area
although they already delivered the washing machine to our house, they brought it back and we went back to select another smaller size washing machine
other stores probably won't care since it's our mistake
we so lucky !
yes! strongly recommend Hong Liang. No GST. Vincent very friendly, honest. I bought ALL stuff from there, including hse phone.

it is opposite the ex bt merah safra club at the cross junction of ikea/anchor pt/queesway sc
can try Hong Liang at Bt Merah Lane 1 (opp Safra which is besides IKEA Alexandra). We got a really good deal from there, save approximately $500 plus on TV, fridge and washing machine. Vincent is very good with product knowledge and can give recommendations. Hee best of all is the savings we got, hoping all goes well till delivery in May
i will reco aik leong from bt merah there, find it much cheaper den hong liang.
the lady boss also more accomodating.
i bought my fridge and other appliances from them.
Hi I found Aik Leong on yellowpages.

yes, the aik leong address is right.
aik leong and Hong Liang are very near each other. both located at bukit merah central. aik leong is blk 121 (62719365), hong liang is blk 123 (62783331).
other cheap and famous that i compile from forums are:
Lucky Store at Transit Road : 64560788
Chin Leong & Co at 664 Geylang Rd: 67443053
Dav Electronics at Bukit Timah: 64677767
Everjoint: 64582531
KongTai: 65658924
Goh Ah Bee at Hougang St 21: 62888611
so far, i've spoke to hong liang (bad service recently), aik leong (good and helpful), lucky store (so-so), goh ah bee (so-so) and Dav.personally, i find Dav service to be most patient.
hope this helps...
my comment:
Hong Liang : proud, but if they can match your price..then ok, but take note of late deliveries...(like you took leave to wait for the item to come, but ended up, it came in the night !)
bought Toshiba fridge and Sharp Microwave from them before
DAV : always patient in quoting price over phone..one of the stores I feel comfortable with..but I didn't buy anything from them..since they carry limited brands
Everjoint: great price for Hitachi plasma..and able to match price from outside quote..
bought 42" plasma, kdk fan, and joven water heater, installment plan at 5.5% for DBS bank..
Goods to arrive in Aug
GAB : quite friendly..but when asked for A, they tell you B is good...seems like they have more commission for certain brands...Pricing very good too..kdk fan is cheaper than in Everjoint, but no delivery if buying fan alone..
thot i share the info that was passed to me by a kind hearted forumner in renotalk.. here goes

Aircon Piping
Actually I rather have exposed air con trunking than to re-renovate my flat if the pipes need to be changed.
Why would there be this potential need to change? Because by 2016, aircons should comply to environmental friendly regulations that ban the use of R22 as refrigerant. Thus if you look at new A/C systems like Mit Elec, they use R410. The benefits besides being environmental friendly, it also saves more energy. It can produce a higher cooling capacity at lower power consumption, thus increasing EER (Energy Efficiency Ratio).
However, this R410 operates at higher pressure than R22. Currently our gas pipes for A/C are Grade22/23. Though manufacturers did recommend using Grade 21 (thicker) copper pipes, it is has not been made compulsory by authories simply because so far no buildings using G22/23 pipes yet running on R410 has resulted in any explosion.
My concern is that if I were to use G22/23 pipes now for my R410 driven A/C, and if authorities were to impose a minimum standard in future, I would require tearing down my built-in concealment.
P.S. I'm no aircon expert in practice. The above information about R410 and G21 copper pipes was re-worded from ahnaiz, who is a very helpful aircon guru who writes a blog about aircons
Nevertheless, I've asked my aircon specialist to quote me based on G21 copper pipes.
I think it is better to leave the piping expose in case if there is leakage or condensation in the trunking due to insufficient insulation or poor workmanship. You may consider increase the insulator if you need to run the trunking behind a wardrobe.
If u want yr air-con pipe to be concealed, u can ask yr con to give some access panels to access for repair works.
In addition, the pipes cannot be squeeze too much, i.e. more space for them. Notice that some concealed piping box up are too small for the pipes and all the pipes squeeze together result in problems later.
In addition, u have to ensure u sign up a servicing contract with the authorised air-con svc dealer to pump chemicals to wash those pipes at least once a year. Most of the time if dun maintain the pipes, over time when it damage will lead to condensation and water will drip on yr floor n damage yr box up etc. So do take note.
