sometimes cheap not necessary means good 'cos you'll have to weigh the coverage as well as claims experience of the company.

What is your reason in chosing AIA? Their premium is much more expensive than NTUC, AIG etc.

Anyway, the AIA Eite Homecare plans & benefits include

- Loss of mobile phone, PDAs and laptop inside locked vehicle also included.

- replacement of personal docs including NRIC, passport n driving licence, in the event of loss or damage due to Principal Perils

- in the event of any loss or damage due to Principal Perils within the building for a period of 10days including New Year's Day, CNY, Hari Raya Haji, Hari Raya Puasa, Deepavali, Good Friday, Vesak Day and X'mas

I think generally the same for most insurance companies so it really depends on how wide u wanna cover.

AIA keep it simple so u do not need to provide proof of forcible or voilent entry to claim

an advice for private condo owners..there's no need to get additional building coverage 'cos the four walls will typically be insured under MCST.

i know of some agents who'd add building coverage (some agents are just ignorant, others may be dishonest?) into your home content protection plan.

for private condo home content protection..i feel the Tenet's HomeBliss plan is quite good and cheap. for public home protection..i feel AIG is one of the best (free fire extinguisher too!)

May I know why you decided to buy AIA? In terms of Home insurance, AIG can cover more and its much cheaper, But wat i see is the payout is better for AIG. But AIA does include the additional ones like worldwide coverage liability...

Most of the homecare insurance in the market might look the same but most of them including NTUC and AIG requires you to show forcible entry and not many of them are based on first loss policy.

These are 2 main areas to take note when getting a homecare ins.

Ya, AIA does not require owner to show proof of forced entry and also include theft from vehicle...not sure if other agencies catered for that. It also catered to being sued by your neighbours if the fire originated from your flat and their unit (s) were affected.
